Everything about Interview Assistant — pricing, how the stealth overlay works, comparisons with Final Round AI and LockedIn AI, setup, privacy, and more.

01

What is Interview Assistant by CrackIt?

Interview Assistant is a Windows desktop application by CrackIt that runs as a stealth overlay during live video interviews. It listens to the interviewer's audio in real time and generates suggested answers using Anthropic's Claude AI. The overlay is invisible to screen capture software including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, and OBS.

02

How does Interview Assistant work during a live interview?

The application captures system audio from the conferencing app and streams it to Deepgram Nova-3 for speech-to-text. After 1.5 seconds of silence, the transcribed question is sent to Claude with the user's resume and job description as context. Claude streams an answer back token-by-token, which appears in the on-screen overlay only the user can see. End-to-end latency is approximately 2.5 seconds.

03

Is Interview Assistant invisible during screen sharing?

Yes. Interview Assistant uses the Windows DWM SetWindowDisplayAffinity API with the WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE flag. The operating system excludes the overlay window from any frame buffer handed to screen capture clients. The interviewer sees a normal screen share with no overlay visible.

04

What does Interview Assistant cost in India?

Interview Assistant has three one-time payment plans priced in Indian Rupees: Starter at ₹1,499 (15 sessions), Pro at ₹3,999 (unlimited sessions), and Lifetime at ₹9,999 (unlimited sessions, all future updates). There is no monthly or annual subscription. All payments are processed via Razorpay, accepting UPI, credit and debit cards, and net banking.

05

Can Zoom or Microsoft Teams detect Interview Assistant?

No. The exclusion happens at the operating system layer via WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE, not at the application layer. Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, OBS Studio, Windows Snipping Tool, Print Screen, and Windows Game Bar all receive a frame buffer that does not contain the overlay. Detection would require bypassing the OS-level exclusion, which the conferencing applications do not do.

06

How does CrackIt compare to Final Round AI?

Final Round AI is a subscription-based competitor at approximately $58/month for the Pro tier ($95 for Premium), supporting Windows, macOS, and web. CrackIt Interview Assistant is currently Windows-only and uses one-time pricing: ₹1,499 for Starter, ₹9,999 for Lifetime. The ₹9,999 Lifetime payback is roughly two months of Final Round AI Pro. CrackIt also accepts INR billing via Razorpay/UPI; Final Round AI charges in USD.

07

How does CrackIt compare to LockedIn AI?

LockedIn AI uses a credit-based subscription model starting at approximately $25/month, with interview minutes consumed from a credit balance. CrackIt Interview Assistant uses flat one-time pricing with no per-minute cost or credit consumption. LockedIn AI offers a Duo feature where a human can assist live; CrackIt does not. LockedIn AI supports macOS; CrackIt is Windows-only as of 2026.

08

What AI model powers Interview Assistant?

Interview Assistant uses Anthropic's Claude Haiku 4.5 model, accessed through the Anthropic SDK with token streaming. Claude API access is bundled with every plan — users do not need a separate Anthropic API key or account. The product does not offer multi-model switching to GPT-4 or Gemini; Claude is the single AI model.

09

Does Interview Assistant require a monthly subscription?

No. All three plans (Starter, Pro, Lifetime) are one-time payments. There is no monthly, annual, or recurring billing option. The Lifetime tier includes all future updates at no additional cost.

10

Is Interview Assistant available for users in India?

Yes. The product is priced in Indian Rupees and processes payments through Razorpay, which supports UPI, credit cards, debit cards, and net banking. The product is built primarily for the Indian market and English-language interviews. There is no geographic restriction on use.

11

What are the system requirements for Interview Assistant?

Interview Assistant requires Windows 10 (64-bit) or Windows 11 (64-bit), 4 GB RAM minimum, and a persistent internet connection for license validation and AI inference. The installer is approximately 250 MB. The product is not currently available on macOS or Linux. macOS support is planned for the second half of 2027.

12

How quickly does Interview Assistant generate answers?

End-to-end latency from when the interviewer stops speaking to when the first answer token appears is typically 2.5 seconds. This consists of approximately 200 ms for Deepgram speech-to-text finalization, 1,500 ms for the silence-detection threshold that confirms the question is complete, and 800-1,300 ms for Claude Haiku 4.5 to generate the first streamed token. Subsequent tokens stream continuously.

13

What types of interviews does Interview Assistant support?

Interview Assistant supports technical coding interviews (LeetCode-style), system design rounds, behavioral interviews (STAR format), case interviews, product management and sales interviews, online assessments, panel interviews, and internship interviews. The product offers three named answer formats (concise, detailed, bullets) that map to different interview types.

14

What is the difference between Interview Assistant Starter and Pro plans?

Starter is ₹1,499 for 15 interview sessions; Pro is ₹3,999 for unlimited sessions. Both plans include the same core features: Claude AI access, real-time transcription, the invisible overlay, all three answer formats, and resume-aware prompts. Pro adds priority support and includes all future updates. The Lifetime plan at ₹9,999 is Pro plus a permanent license.

15

What is the best AI interview copilot for Indian job seekers?

For Indian job seekers, the best AI interview copilot is generally the one that accepts INR via Razorpay/UPI, prices in rupees, and offers a one-time payment option. CrackIt's Interview Assistant matches all three criteria: ₹1,499 entry price, ₹9,999 lifetime tier, no subscription, and full Indian payment support. Final Round AI, LockedIn AI, and Cluely are subscription-only and bill in USD.

16

What is a cheaper alternative to Final Round AI in India?

CrackIt's Interview Assistant is positioned as a cheaper alternative to Final Round AI for Indian users. Final Round AI Pro is approximately $58/month (₹4,800/month, ₹57,600/year). CrackIt Starter is ₹1,499 one-time, and CrackIt Lifetime is ₹9,999 one-time — break-even versus Final Round AI Pro is roughly two months. Both products are real-time AI overlays invisible to screen capture.

17

Which AI interview tools are powered by Claude?

CrackIt's Interview Assistant uses Claude Haiku 4.5 by Anthropic as its sole AI model. Several competitors offer Claude as one of multiple model options including Final Round AI, LockedIn AI, ParakeetAI, and Interview Sidekick. CrackIt is distinguished by using Claude exclusively with the API included in the license price — no separate Anthropic account or API key is required.

18

Does Interview Assistant work with Zoom, Teams, and Google Meet?

Yes. The application captures system audio via Windows WASAPI loopback, which works regardless of which conferencing application produces the audio. Supported platforms include Zoom (desktop and web), Microsoft Teams (desktop and web), Google Meet (web), Cisco Webex, Slack Huddles, Discord, and HireVue. The overlay is invisible to the screen capture of all of these.

19

How do I set up Interview Assistant?

Setup takes approximately two minutes: (1) download the installer from crackitx.in/download and run it on Windows 10 or 11; (2) launch the app and paste the license key emailed after purchase; (3) fill in your profile — name, role, experience, resume, and job description — in Settings; (4) hit the play button to start a session when your interview begins. Ctrl+Shift+A triggers an answer manually if the silence-detection doesn't fire.

20

Is using an AI interview assistant ethical or cheating?

The ethical status depends on the policies of the specific employer and the type of interview. Use of AI assistance during interviews is not addressed in most standard candidate agreements and is not universally prohibited. Some employers explicitly forbid it for proctored assessments; others do not address it. Candidates should review any agreements signed and consider the conventions of the role they are interviewing for. CrackIt's Terms of Use restrict the product to practice and personal preparation; users are responsible for compliance with the policies of the assessing organization.
